Hotel Amet Haveli is well designed and sited in a superb position. It fronts onto Lake Pichola near the Hanuman Ghat and is directly opposite the magnificent shoreline of Udaipur City Palace, Lal Ghat and water gate. It is comfortable, clean and elegant. This pretty 350-year-old haveli has enough charm to have found its way into glossy books on Indian style, but it's rather basic for anyone who wants a lot of amenities.
That's note all, the Ambrai Restaurant which adjoins the Amet Haveli is beautifully located under trees beside the lake. At night braziers are sets up for warmth and lamps are hanged from the trees. The food at the restaurant is so tempting, mouth watering & delicious that you simply cant miss it.
The hotel's halcyon setting on the west banks of the lake, opposite the livelier old town, is great for lovebirds or anyone wanting a soul-soothing getaway. Offering picturesque windows bearing small stained-glass panels and cushioned window seats, rooms are elegant though not overly luxurious. More comfort defines the suites.
